• Regulatory Registration Check: Confirming that Registered Building Inspectors (RBIs) appear on the official Register of Building Inspectors at gov.uk and are listed in the correct class.
• Profile Consistency Check: Ensuring that details provided on the platform reasonably match publicly available information (e.g., LinkedIn, company websites).

Plan Checker does not verify professional insurance, CPD, qualifications beyond the public register, or prior work experience.

4. Professional Responsibility

Professionals are solely responsible for:

• Maintaining their professional registration status.
• Holding any qualifications, CPD, or memberships required by their regulator or professional body.
• Ensuring they have appropriate insurance for the services they provide.

Clients are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence before engaging a professional.

5. Verification Status

Professionals who pass the above checks will be able to offer their individual services on the platform, meaning their details were confirmed against the Register of Building Inspectors.

This does not represent endorsement of their competence, insurance, or suitability for a specific project.

6. Failed Verification

Verification may be refused if:

• A professional cannot be located on the Register of Building Inspectors.
• The details provided are inconsistent with publicly available records.
• False or misleading information is submitted.

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

All information submitted for verification is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

8. Costs and Fees

The standard verification check is included as part of professional registration on the platform.

9. Non-Compliance and Consequences

Providing false or misleading information may result in:

• Suspension or termination of the account.
• Reporting to relevant professional bodies or regulatory authorities.
