This Fees Agreement ("Agreement") outlines the fees, charges, and payment terms associated with the use of Plan Checker, a trading name of Elegance Engineering Ltd. ("Plan Checker," "we," "us," or "our"). This Agreement forms part of and should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use, User Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.
By accessing or using our website, mobile application, or related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to comply with and be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform.
1. Fee Structure
1.1 Platform Fees
Plan Checker charges the following fees for facilitating connections and transactions between Clients and Professionals:
- Client Profile Fee: 10% of the total transaction value for each service procured through the Platform.
- Professional Profile Fee: 10% of the total transaction value for each service provided through the Platform.
These fees are calculated and applied separately to each party in a transaction.
1.2 Payment Processing Fees
In addition to Platform Fees, the following payment processing fees apply:
- Stripe Payment Processing: All payment processing and refunds are facilitated through Stripe. Plan Checker does not process or hold funds directly. Stripe's standard payment processing fees will apply in addition to Plan Checker's Platform Fees.
- Current Stripe Fee: As of the Effective Date, Stripe's standard fee is 1.4% + 20p for European cards and 2.9% + 20p for non-European cards per transaction. These fees are subject to change based on Stripe's fee structure.
1.3 Other Potential Fees
- Premium Features: Additional fees may apply for optional premium features, which will be clearly communicated before activation.
- Currency Conversion: For transactions in currencies other than GBP, currency conversion fees may apply.
- Late Payment Fees: Late payment of any fees may result in additional charges as permitted by law.
- Chargeback Fees: If a payment is reversed or charged back, a fee may be applied to cover administrative costs.
2. Fee Calculation and Examples
2.1 How Fees Are Calculated
Platform Fees are calculated as a percentage of the gross transaction amount before any taxes or additional charges.
2.2 Example Calculation
For a transaction of £1,000:
- Client pays: £1,000 + £100 (10% Platform Fee) + applicable Stripe fees.
- Professional receives: £1,000 - £100 (10% Platform Fee) - applicable Stripe fees.
2.3 VAT Treatment
All fees quoted exclude Value Added Tax (VAT) unless otherwise stated. VAT will be applied at the current UK rate (20% as of the Effective Date) where applicable. A VAT invoice will be provided for all transactions subject to VAT.
3. Billing and Payment Terms
3.1 Billing Cycle
- For Clients: Fees are charged at the time of payment for services.
- For Professionals: Fees are deducted from payments received before the remaining balance is transferred to your account.
3.2 Payment Methods
The Platform accepts payment via:
- Credit and debit cards.
- Bank transfers
- Other payment methods as specified on the Platform.
3.3 Invoices and Receipts
- Electronic invoices and receipts will be issued for all transactions.
- All fees will be itemized clearly on invoices and receipts.
- VAT or other applicable taxes will be applied as required by law.
3.4 Payment Timing
- For Professionals: Payments will typically be transferred to your account within 7 business days after the transaction is completed, minus applicable fees.
- Holding Periods: In certain circumstances, payments may be subject to a holding period for security verification or dispute resolution purposes.
4. Non-Payment and Account Suspension
4.1 Late or Failed Payments
- Failure to pay applicable fees may result in account suspension.
- Repeated payment failures may result in account termination.
4.2 Reactivation
- Suspended accounts may be reactivated once all outstanding fees are paid.
- Reactivation fees may apply at Plan Checker's discretion.
4.3 Debt Collection
For seriously overdue payments, we reserve the right to engage third-party debt collection services. Any costs associated with debt collection will be added to the amount owed.
5. Fee Disputes
5.1 Dispute Process
- Fee disputes must be submitted in writing to info@planchecker.co.uk within 14 days of the transaction.
- All disputes will be reviewed within 30 days of submission.
- You must provide clear evidence supporting your dispute, including transaction details and the specific nature of the dispute.
5.2 Refund Policy
Platform Fees are generally non-refundable except in cases of:
- Technical error by Plan Checker
- Duplicate charges
- Services not rendered due to Professional's failure to deliver.
- Other circumstances at Plan Checker's discretion
5.3 Dispute Resolution
If the dispute cannot be resolved directly with Plan Checker, users who qualify as consumers may have recourse to Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms as outlined in our User Agreement and Terms of Use. 6. Fee Changes
6.1 Fee Adjustments
- We reserve the right to modify our fee structure with 30 days' notice.
- Changes will be communicated via email and/or platform notifications.
- Continued use of the Platform after fee changes constitutes acceptance of the new fee structure.
6.2 Promotional Rates
- We may offer promotional or reduced fees for limited periods.
- Promotional rates will have clearly communicated expiration dates.
- After the promotional period ends, standard rates will automatically apply without additional notice.
7. Circumvention Prohibition
7.1 Non-Circumvention Policy
- Users are prohibited from circumventing the Platform to avoid fees.
- This includes but is not limited to:
- Exchanging contact information with the intention of conducting business outside the Platform
- Using the Platform for initial contact only
- Using alternative payment methods not supported by the Platform
7.2 Violations
- Violations of this non-circumvention policy may result in:
- Account suspension or termination.
- Financial penalties
- Legal action where appropriate
7.3 Reporting Circumvention
Users are encouraged to report any attempts to circumvent the Platform's fee structure. Reports can be submitted to info@planchecker.co.uk.
8. Tax Implications
8.1 Tax Responsibility
- Users are responsible for any taxes applicable to their transactions.
- Plan Checker is not responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, or remitting taxes arising from any transaction, except where required by law.
- Professionals may need to report income earned through the Platform to HMRC or other relevant tax authorities.
8.2 Tax Documentation
- We will provide necessary transaction records for tax reporting purposes.
- Users should consult with tax professionals regarding their specific tax obligations.
- For users outside the UK, additional tax considerations may apply.

This Agreement complies with:
- UK Consumer Rights Act 2015
- UK Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002
- UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013
- UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)

10. Modifications to the Agreement
We may update this Agreement periodically. Changes will be effective upon posting on the Platform with an updated "Effective Date." Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement. For material changes, we will provide notification via email or through the Platform.
